One of the biggest hurdles when it comes to FSAE competition is passing technical inspection which is mandatory before any team can go out on track. On my end, I was heavily involved in preparing the accumulator before the competition to be rules-passing and ready to go out on track. The only modification that was made on-site was the precautionary inclusion of additional accumulator grounding wires to make absolutely sure we had <5 ohms resistance throughout LV ground per rules.
We finished Accumulator Tech on Day 1, first-attempt, and in the fastest time in the team’s history. This was despite the fact that we had missed our Accumulator Pre-Tech video deadline just weeks prior, meaning we had to spend more time getting everything inspected on-site.
